The following steps will show you how to apply as a volunteer with Ottawa Special Olympics

Step 1

–Contact Volunteer Coordinator either by email or call (613) 860-6184 and leave a clear message, with your name, address and phone number.

Step 2

Complete the following forms:

• Volunteer Registration Form (word document)
• Police Records Check (including vulnerable sector search)

Note: In the registration form please include two non-family references and don't forget to sign it!

Step 3

Once you complete the forms, contact the Volunteer Coordinator so an official letter from our organization can be provided to you in order to waive the fee for your Police Records Check.

Step 4

Visit your local Ottawa Police station to process your Police Records Check.

Note: Don't forget your official letter to waive your fees (we can not reimburse funds) and the completed Police Records Check Form.

Option: For service by police: it may be submitted immediately or mailed to you/arranged for pick up

Once you receive the Police Records Check, please forward the original copy to our local mailing address along with the Volunteer Registration Form to:

Once forms are received by the Volunteer Coordinator, you will be connected with the Head Coach of the appropriate program(s).
